A guest review has come in from an eminent personage, and I quote it here in full.

I shall go and see The Blind Side myself when it goes on general release towards the end of the month, and we'll see if I agree...!

Cut for minor spoilers... )

Dave and I went to an evening of comedy and discussion about the UK libel laws on Sunday night.

I only really went to see Tim Minchin and, since he was on before the interval, I considered going home half way through.  I'm glad I didn't, though, as the second half was highly entertaining.

By the state of his introductory spiel, Tim Minchin had spent most of the first half drinking, but he still managed to perform his 9.5 minute beat poem "Storm" perfectly.

Ariane Sherine's "Sing-a-long-a-Simon-Singh-song" was extremely amusing.

Having never come across them before, I am now a staunch fan of both Brian Cox and Ed Burn.

Richard Wiseman and Dara O'Briain both had funny moments, as well.

In between, Ben Goldacre took the onerous task of doing "the serious bit", and did it very well, too.

All round an excellent night out.
