alobear | Buffy Stuff

First of all, a big thank you to

cholten99 for doing techie stuff last night, which means this entry comes to you from my own lovely PC, now installed in Enfield next to the secondary TV/DVD player! Yay!

Anyway, anybody who isn't interested in me rambling about incredibly old Buffy episodes should look away now.

Buffy never appealed to me when it first started. I only got on board when Angel got his own show, which is why the first episodes of Buffy I saw were the second half of Season 4. Then there was slight confusion when I somehow missed Season Five, caught Season Six but then failed to watch Season Seven.

So, when

cholten99 and his Complete Box Set turned up, I decided to rectify the situation. I wasn't interested enough to start from the beginning so I just filled the gaps last year with Five and Seven.

A couple of weeks ago, though, I decided it was finally time to find out how it all began, so I borrowed the Box Set again and am working my way through One, Two and Three.

It was really weird watching Season One, when I already knew the characters so well and all the relationships were so incredibly different. It took me more than an entire season to get on board with Xander and Cordelia being an item, and I'd never seen Spike actually being properly evil before.

Then Oz turned up, and things took on a whole new slant. I knew he existed, but I wasn't expecting him to be so cute or so lovely. Then Season Three started and my new-found devotion to Oz has caused a bit of a problem. I used to like Willow and Xander, but I just watched "Lover's Walk" and now they're totally on my hit list. I realise Willow has been in love with Xander forever, and that him suddenly finding her attractive must have been very difficult to resist - but she had Oz!! And he's so much cuter, and sweeter and lovelier than Xander - how could she bear to hurt him? And Xander is even worse - he'd managed to catch Cordelia and almost turn her into a nice person, but then decided to screw everything up by noticing Willow two years too late!

Grr! Aargh!

Unfortunately, I know Oz and Cordelia aren't in it any more after Season Three, and I really like Willow and Xander in Seasons Four onwards. It's not fair!

I guess I'll just have to watch Four to Seven again to find some closure...

Of course, what would be even better would be if some especially nice person would let me borrow their Angel Box Set so I could revisit all the chocolately goodness that can be found there - especially since I'm currently watching "The Wish" and Angel just got dusted!

Ah well - I get paid next week - maybe I could buy an Angel Box Set of my very own!
