Trio and The Duchess
Sep. 7th, 2008 08:36 pmTrio was my horse of choice this morning - given the option of either him or Madison, it wasn't a difficult choice to make. We had Lynn as instructor today, and she led a very open lesson. We each warmed up individually, then gathered as a group to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each horse, and identify what we should each focus on to improve them. We then went back to individual work, wtih Lynn giving us her attention in turn.
Trio's a great horse - very interesting to ride, and Lynn seemed to think I did well with him. He's very tense and doesn't bend, instead leaning round corners like a motorbike, but we managed a couple of tolerable circles by the end of the lesson, and I even managed to get him to do a proper upward and downward transition to and from canter, so it was quite satisfying.
The Duchess was the film of choice this evening - an enjoyable outing with corone and lareinemisere. Not much happened, it wasn't very jolly, and Keira Knightley really doesn't do it for me in giant dresses and wigs - but, luckily, these are not things that preclude enjoyment of a film, and I thought overall that it was very good.
