A College of Magics review
Feb. 9th, 2008 09:29 amI bought A College of Magics because it is written by one of the pair of authors behind the excellent Enchanted Chocolate Pot. Whilst it was clearly the same author, the spark produced by the interaction between the two of them was sadly missing from this book. By two thirds of the way through, I was wondering why anybody would care about such an insipid story, where virtually nothing happens and the characters do not leap from the page. The climax turned out to be quite exciting, and the ending was emotionally satisfying to a degree, but neither of these things made up for the tediousness of the preceding 350 pages.
