Well, I devoured my Sharon Shinn book, and it was just as yummy as I'd hoped. Shamelessly romantic, all my favourite characters present and correct, lots of political intrigue and action, but with a gloriously happy ending (my favourite character - a commoner of no breeding whatsoever - got to marry the princess and rule the kingdom at her side).
Now, I realise this is precisely the ending I was complaining about in Stardust - but there was slightly more to it here, and sometimes it just works, okay?
I've put the whole series of four books back on the end of my book pile to read again.
