The Banger Sisters review
Apr. 6th, 2007 07:23 pmYes, I know - too many posts in one day (plus an extra one if you count Bear's adventures at Whipsnade) - but I'm afraid that's what happens when you get up at 6am!!
Anyway, I have no idea when or why (or even if) I put The Banger Sisters on my DVD rental list, but I just watched it and quite enjoyed it. It certainly wasn't rocket science, but it was lightly entertaining (particularly Geoffrey Rush as the neurotic writer who plans to shoot himself at his father's grave but gets distracted by Goldie Hawn along the way). It was also about not letting life and other people's (or your own) expectations stop you from having fun and doing the things you really want to do.
So, with that message firmly in my brain, I'm off to get back in touch with an old friend to ask her if she minds me finishing a story we started writing together about three years ago. I don't want to get back involved with fandom like I was then, but it would be nice to finish the stories languishing in my folder.
