I wasn't overly excited by the prospect of The Wild Robot on seeing the trailer, but I agreed to go because Dave was keen. And, overall, I enjoyed it. It was tonally a bit hit and miss in the first third (with a lot of 'jokes' about animals eating each other, which jarred once the robot learned the 'animal' language and they all became anthropomorphised) but totally hit me in the feels in a major way on multiple occasions from about halfway through. But - there was a fundamental issue (which generally happens with films that have talking animals) in that it was all lovely and everything that the animals came together - but, after the film ended, what were the carnivores going to eat...? Still, it was very sweet and affecting in a lot of ways and I generally decided just to go with it and not worry about it...
