I admit I was mostly interested in seeing this play because of the cast - Andy Serkis and Woody Harrelson - and they did not disappoint. Louisa Harland absolutely held her own as the third cast member - excellent performances all round.
They are an actor, a writer and a director, planning to put on a play about a terrorist killing catholic priests in Northern Ireland during 'the Troubles'.
But things start unravelling once the self-proclaimed 'progressive' men reveal their truly bigoted attitudes.
It was very funny in places and quite powerful in others - but I did feel it went off the rails a bit towards the end with the escalation of both melodrama and violence.
What I found most interesting, though, was that there were staff members waving signs about at the start, warning us not to film or photograph the play, so as to avoid posting spoilers online. But the content warnings on the theatre website itself spoiled the ending for me (though I realise it was important for them to be there).
Ah well - overall, I enjoyed the play and was glad I went.
