We had a fun day playing board games in a pub with a friend yesterday and he introduced us to Mantis. As it's from the same publisher as Exploding Kittens, I was a bit apprehensive - but it turned out to be really fun and quite interesting.
You have a set of cards in front of you at the start of the game and, on your turn, you turn over a new card to see if you can match it to some you already have (and score) or some an opponent has (in which case you steal their cards to add to your own). You have to decide which you're going to do before you turn over the card, and the back of each card shows three options as to what colour it might be.
It was light and silly - and I won a massive victory after only a few staggeringly lucky turns...
I would definitely like to play this again, perhaps with more players and more rounds.
