The Ground Beneath Her Feet
Aug. 15th, 2023 09:18 pmI was quite excited when I spotted this book by Salman Rushdie in a local charity shop - I've enjoyed the others of his I've read to a greater or lesser extent, so I was keen to try another one.
But after six days, I was only 100 pages in so I decided to stop.
It wasn't bad - it was just a challenging read in some ways and I wasn't invested enough in it to put in the effort.
It does feel a bit like a failure on my part - but I do have a lot going on at the moment, as well as a family book club book to read in the not too distant future.
So, I'm calling a halt to trying with this one, so I can move on to something easier.
Perhaps another time...?
