Animalia is a co-operative trick-taking card game, where you have to work together to ensure specific players win tricks containing specific cards, in order to fulfil the requirements of conservation-themed missions, as well as collecting money to fund special projects, which allow the use of card-specific powers.
It was difficult for me to understand how the game would work from having the rules explained to me - but once we got into it, it was pretty interesting and rather fun. We were very successful in terms of completing missions and raising funds, but it felt challenging enough to be engaging, and there were a lot of more complicated aspects that we didn't include, so there's lots of opportunity for replaying at higher difficulty levels.
