I really tried with The Marriage of Opposites by Alice Hoffman, because it's exactly the kind of book I'm bingeing at the moment (female-focused historical drama) and I really didn't want to have a third DNF in a row - but I was less than 100 pages in after five days (and reading my old journals by preference) so I just gave up last night.
It started out very slow and very remote - the protagonist's name wasn't used until page 54 and there was almost no direct action, so it felt more like a biography than a novel. I was interested in the setting and the themes, but even after the story properly started, there just wasn't enough to engage me to want to carry on with it.

I'm a big fan of Alice Hoffman's
