My next foray into computer games has been Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery.

Initially, you have to help a young artist finish a painting that's part of an application for an exhibition. But, as the game progresses, there are mysteries and puzzles to solve, in order to find the right colour paint, and also discover the artist's history and how it connects to the old man who lives across the street.

The game is entirely confined to the artist's small flat, and the mechanics basically involve moving the view around and clicking on things that are able to be clicked on. So, it's pretty simple. The puzzles were interesting, and I never got frustrated with them or had to cheat (which means they are very easy, because I generally give up on puzzles very quickly).

There's an abrupt and quite unsettling shift in tone partway through, and the ending is quite ambiguous - I have an interpretation, which is rather sad. But it was a fun game, which very much kept me engaged throughout. As with a lot of games I've been playing recently, I just wish it was longer!
