Spiderman: No Way Home - spoilery!

We braved the outside world to go and see the new Spiderman film last night - it's still so weird to me that going to the cinema is something that needs to be carefully considered...
And it was really good! It was very silly until it really wasn't, then it was very silly again until it really wasn't again. But it didn't feel tonally uneven - just well-written, with effective emotional arcs.
I went in with no knowledge of the plot, so was very pleasantly surprised when unexpected people started turning up all over the place. Quite a few heavyweight actors reprised their roles and confirmed their reputations - plus I have to say Andrew Garfield massively exceeded my expectations and was one of the best things in it!
Tom Holland is endlessly watchable, as far as I'm concerned - and he displayed a lot of levels here, with some great, nuanced acting, and very believable emotion.
MJ and Ned didn't get a huge amount to do, but they did it well - and Benedict Cumberbatch was great.
So, all round great acting, mostly great special effects, and some wonderful twists on the standard superhero format (why kill the bad guys when we can cure them?) - well worth a trip out!
