I went into Free Guy with reasonably low expectations - and it was almost entirely awesome!
It made me laugh out loud more than I think any film has done in a very long time, it was exciting and hilarious and generally all-round fun.
There were a couple of iffy bits (stereotypical gamer dude, rather painfully unfunny bad guy, a couple of dud jokes, not that great in terms of representation).
It dipped a bit in the second half, but then pulled it back for a great ending.
But overall, I absolutely loved it!
Empire criticised it for having "little to care about beneath the pixelated surface" but I was completely invested in Guy's journey of self-discovery and Ryan Reynolds' overly sincere performance landed pitch-perfect as far as I was concerned.
