The Sharing Knife: Passage

Onto the third instalment of Lois McMaster Bujold's Sharing Knife series: Passage. I listened to the audiobook, as with the other two.
The story follows straight on from the end of the second book, making the series one long saga rather than several distinct stories. And it is a meandering tale - quite literally, as Fawn and Dag set out on a riverboat with the intention of making it all the way to the sea.
They meet up with a great set of characters along the way - a young woman looking for her missing father and brother, two lakewalkers who have temporarily left their camp, various boatmen - and eventually they discover the reason boats have been disappearing along this stretch of river.
It's a fun journey and I enjoyed travelling the river with these characters, getting to know them better and understanding more about Dag's sort of spiritual powers. The climax was action-packed, with some interesting moral dilemmas, and the relationship between Fawn and Dag went from strength to strength.
There's one more in the series and I'm really looking forward to it.
