We played this card game in the pub last night - twice!

It has a very simple mechanic. You draw cards from the deck, collect sets, and get points depending on how many you have when you decide to cash them in. The theme is a bit problematical - you play 'archaeologists' who are basically stealing treasures from native sites to sell them to a museum. And it sounds too simple to be enjoyable. But - there are thieves and sandstorms that can mean you lose part of your hand, there are map fragments that give you access to potentially lucrative chambers, and the market allows you to trade your treasures to maximise your sets.

So, there's strategy in deciding how and when to trade your cards, and a push-your-luck element to see how much you can collect before the next sandstorm rips through your camp.

It's very luck based, but engaging enough that I wanted to try to beat it again immediately after playing the first time. I think I came last in both games, but I still really enjoyed playing, which is always a sign of a good game in my book.
