If, like me, the thing that freaks you out the most is deep water potentially containing things with teeth - don't go and see Happy Feet. There was a section in the middle where the penguin is being chased through the sea by a seal - *scariest* *thing* *ever*...

Other than that, I wasn't quite sure what to make of it. Overall, I think it tried to do too many things - not all at once, but in a row, so it had no cohesive plot and felt very jerky. It was as if several writers had come up wtih individual ideas and the director had decided to let them take turns. "First, we're going to do penguin culture, then we're going to deal with being different as a child, then we're going to look at blind religion, then we're going to address animals in zoos, then we're going to move on to the environmental issue of overfishing the antarctic. Oh, and we should put some Robin Williams comedy penguins scattered throughout so the kids don't get bored. And we mustn't forget to throw in the adult in-jokes along the way."

Bits of it were good, bits of it were fun, bits of it were scariest thing ever (well, for me, anyway), but mostly it was MESSAGE DELIVERED BY SLEDGE HAMMER.

Good voice cast, though, and freakily realistic computer generated people. Plus, some very funny adult in-jokes, especially the 2001 reference.
