I don't feel as if I've been to the cinema much this year, and nothing's really stood out as being that good, either...
Though I've just checked back through my journal and I've been to the cinema nine times so far this year (four of which were in one weekend in January) and most of the films have been more on the positive side than the negative.
Anyway, we went to see The Incredibles 2 last night, and it was very good. I liked the exploration of gender roles, the complex family dynamics and the humour. The action sequences were fantastic, which a lot of really creative use of different powers. And Jack-Jack was hilarious.
The villain wasn't that great, but the jeopardy was definitely there, and I liked how much the kids got to do, and the tricky situations they found themselves in.
All in all, a great sequel to a great original, and certainly the best superhero movie I've seen in quite some time.
