Last week, I went to Underbelly on the south bank to see Soap, a circus-style cabaret show, which including juggling, dance, acrobatics and comedy opera. The various acts were based around several free-standing baths that were moved around the stage, and it was all very silly, but also very impressive. There were eight members of the troupe, and they all performed to a very high standard. We were a bit concerned when the people on the front rows to either side of us were given plastic sheeting to shelter behind, and we weren't, but it turned out the centre front row was the best place to get an excellent view without getting *too* wet. It was all highly entertaining, and a very good night out all round.

This weekend just gone, Dave and I travelled up to Chester for a games weekend, and I played two games I hadn't come across before. One was The Oregon Trail, a co-operative card game where we tried to put together a safe trail across the table, fording rivers and using our various supplies to avert calamity. We all died. It was quite entertaining, though, but there is the possibility of various players being eliminated early on and having to drop out.

The other new game was called Fun Employment, and was very silly. One player revealed a job and provided each of the others with three cards listing various traits. There was a period during which the players could swap out their cards for others on the table, and then each player had to describe in turn why they would be a good candidate for the job, using their cards to demonstrate their qualifications. It was intermittently very amusing, but not something I'd like to play a lot.
