Penultimate Cherub Book

This week, I finished listening to Brigands MC, the penultimate book the Cherub series by Robert Muchamore. It was quite different to all the others, as it started with a lengthy set-up, involving completely unfamiliar characters, and the actual Cherub section of the book didn't start until quite a long way through. I thought this was quite a brave move, and also quite welcome, as I've never been keen on the main character of the series, James. He did feature later on, but most of the focus was on Dante, a Cherub who hadn't appeared in the books before, and who had a big emotional investment in the mission once it actually got underway.
The personal backstory element made the stakes much higher and Dante's arc was a good one. I don't think anyone reading this is going to be overly bothered about spoilers for this book series, but - spoilers ahead!
XXXXX
I particularly liked the fact that the mission was ultimately unsuccessful, and that Dante's arc was from tragedy and fixation on revenge to acceptance and the ability to move forwards with his life.
One of the better books in the series!
