Hadley Freeman book
Jan. 18th, 2016 03:51 pmOne of my Christmas presents this year was Be Awesome by Hadley Freeman. I can see why it was bought for me - I do overuse 'awesome' a lot, and it purported to be about 'Modern Life for Modern Ladies'.
I really tried to like this book - but, in the end, I didn't get past the start of chapter three. There was just something intensely annoying about both style and content. It's definitely not aimed at women like me - it appears to be more for people who care about what shoes they wear, and whether or not they can 'have it all'. The one thing I can say for it, is that it made me very happy that I'm me, and not other people... I seem to have already learned a lot of the life lessons the book is trying to impart, and many of the others don't apply to me anyway.
Still, I'm sure there are a lot of women out there who would find it both useful and amusing. I'm just not one of them.
