Rollicking good fun? Hoo-yeah!
I'm not sure it was meant to be as funny as Dave and I found it, but I haven't laughed so much in ages. Apparently, I'm not an android after all!
The bad guys (and some of the good-ish guys) were complete cartoons, which was a problem with Superman Returns, but not with this. Here, it was just funny.
The plot was ludicrous, as well, but again, it really didn't matter - the whole thing was an extremely enjoyable romp, with some pretty good action sequences and a very good supporting cast.
And through it all, like some teenybopper's wet dream, Alex Pettyfer strutted his stuff, playing the straight man to all the inordinate silliness around him. I know, I know, he's only fifteen, and I'm a bad, bad woman - but he's just so ridiculously attractive!
Roll on sequels! And more comedy pigeons!
