First six months of stats for 2012 - much more of a mixed bag than usual...  :o(

Positive - 11 (46%)
Negative - 13 (54%)

Films & TV:
Positive - 7 (47%)
Negative - 8 (53%)

Live Entertainment:
Positive - 3 (75%)
Negative -1 (25%)

Audio Books:
Positive - 11 (79%)
Negative - 3 (21%)

Games:
Positive - 10 (71%)
Negative - 4 (29%)

Total number of reviews - 71
Total positive - 42 (59%)
Total negative - 29 (41%)

I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've ever had more negative than positive reviews in any category - and this time, I've got two!  It feels as though I haven't had a good reading experience in ages, though, so it's nice to see that my good versus bad books are close to 50% over the last six months.  Still, only 59% positive reviews overall is quite depressing.

It does feel like your reviews have been a little more negative this year.
Hopefully it's just a bit of a fallow period and the good stuff'll start rolling in again soon :)

I hope so! It's still over 50% good overall, so I can't complain too much.

I'm attempting to start a new period of awesomeness by rereading Game of Thrones, which is going really well so far! :o)

Oooh, have you read all of them yet?
I'm taking a break after 'A Clash of Kings'. I enjoyed it but oh my god it was SO STRESSFUL. Martin is a very cruel writer! I get so unsettled knowing that there's not a single character safe from agonising death (or worse)!

I'm following the story primarily through the TV show.

I watched the first series when it aired last year, then read the first book.

We've recently watched the second series, and I'm now rereading the first book, then I'm planning to read the second one.

Then I have to amuse myself with other things until the third series airs next year, so I can read the third book!

Simon H warned me before we started watching the first series not to get attached to anyone - but it's really hard!

Perhaps I should watch the show before reading the books rather than vice versa. I think that would be a lot less upsetting.

It is hard not to get attached to people. He writes some wonderful characters. And conversely it's hard not to want to see the baddies get their just desserts. For example, I really, really want Joffrey to die, preferably slowly and painfully. He's such an irredeemably loathsome character!
