I, Lucifer review
Jul. 13th, 2006 08:14 pmThe book is written in exactly the kind of style I usually hate. It's first person present tense, slangy, crude, offensive and extremely full of itself. But then, that's exactly how I would imagine Lucifer to be, so it works irritatingly well. It's also clever, witty, delightfully irreverent and unsurprisingly seductive, also like it's protagonist should be.
That it is eventually rather sad took me by surprise, but not unfitting.
It didn't last long - 260 pages and fast-paced, but I don't think I'd have liked it if it was longer.
Back to Anita Blake now, I guess - I really must read something dense and edifying soon, so I can rediscover that I have a brain...
