Comment to this post, and I will list five things I associate with you, They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then post that list, with your commentary, to your LJ (or just add a reply back to me). Other people (including me) can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.
1) Writing
I'm glad this is the first thing that came to mind when thinking of me - though I don't write as much or as well as I'd like. I think I started writing stories as soon as I could pick up a pen (and possibly before that). I still have a whole series about a farmer called Barnaby Bea that I wrote with my brother when I was about six. I segued into depressing poetry at university and then found the wonderful world of fanfiction, where I merrily lost myself completely for a few years. I've been recognised at conventions and received Fanfic Award nominations for my Stargate fanfiction, but I'm most proud of my version of the Lord of the Rings films, written from the point of view of Legolas. Most recently, I've been working on my Bestselling Novel (TM) - an alternate version of the real world, where electricity is replaced by mana, a magical force controlled by mysterious artisans. It's a lot of fun to write, and it's going pretty well - though I do seem to spend all my time expanding the opening rather than actually getting on with the story.
2) Bear
Who could have guessed that one small microwaveable bear could do so much? With his own full colour coffee table book and popular live journal, I think it's best if we let Bear speak for himself:

This is still my favourite photo of him:

3) Bookflaps
I read a lot. But I also buy/borrow/acquire a lot of books. The ones I am saving up to read live on a bookshelf in the living room, right opposite where I habitually sit of an evening. After they'd been there a while, I discovered that I was finding it difficult to choose which book to read next because I didn't want to read any of them. Thinking about it, I decided that looking at them all the time was making them too familiar to me - I was bored of them all before I'd even read them. I complained about this to Dave - and, one day, I got up to discover that he'd made me some bookflaps!!
They solved the problem completely - now, whenever I need a new book to read, I lift up one of the flaps and a whole raft of volumes I have totally forgotten about is revealed! Plus, they make a handy place to paste up cool pictures I've found.

4) Studying
This is another thing I don't do as often or as well as I'd like. Various people I've known over the years have recommended Open University courses to me, so eventually I decided to give them a go. Since then, I've been doing a different one every year, just for fun - two creative writing courses, two broad spectrum humanities courses, and currently an English Language course. It's interesting, often fun, and it keeps my brain ticking over - though recently I've been finding it harder to be motivated about doing it, since I have so much less time to do it in, now I've got a real job!
5) Adventurous cooking
This one really surprised me, because I would never have classified my cooking as adventurous - I rarely attempt anything difficult, or anything that takes longer than twenty minutes from walking in the door to sitting down to eat. However, the influence of Simon H has made me experiment more in recent years, and my herbs/spices collection is pretty adventurous, when I think about it!
