The first was light and frothy, but with good performances from Amy Adams and Frances McDormand. I liked the fact that one of the love interests clearly took a shine to Miss Pettigrew before her make-over, though I thought fitting an entire romance into just one day was a bit too contrived for credibility. It was a fun film, though.
The September Issue mostly just made me very glad that I've stopped doing jobs that require a lot of overtime and unforgiving bosses - and also that I've never done anything creative for a living, because I think the pressure and deadlines would very rapidly suck all the joy out of it. It was a relatively interesting documentary, but didn't contain anything startling or particularly surprising or noteworthy.
