Scott Pilgrim review
Aug. 29th, 2010 07:22 pm As expected, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World was a really good film.
However, it should also have been surprising. Every time something cool happened, or someone said a funny line, it should have amazed and delighted me. But all I kept thinking was, "Oh, it's this bit next." The end sequence was my favourite part, as it felt like it was the only section I hadn't already seen before. (Having said that, I did also really like Kieran Culkin as the room-mate - he was by far the best character.)
Unfortunately, as Dave said, our experience of the film was severely diminished by our extensive prior knowledge of its awesomeness, which was a real shame, as it is a very cool film.
Damn trailers and their repeated advertisement of all the best bits!
