Dark Moon Defender - audiobook review
Jun. 22nd, 2010 02:10 pmMy latest audiobook was Dark Moon Defender, the third in the Twelve Houses series by Sharon Shinn. It's one of my favourites, but it took me a long time to get into it in audio format, because it was read by someone different to the previous two, and so all the characters sounded wrong. The main problem was that it was read by a man, and I think he tried too hard when it came to voicing the female characters, which made them sound really strange. In particular, he got one character's tone of voice completely wrong, so it jarred every time she was in a scene.
However, the writing and characterisation won through in the end, and I still really enjoyed listening to the story.
