May. 11th, 2010 12:34 pmI actually finshed this some time last week - it's the second in the David Weber series and just as good as the first, if not even better. I liked the inclusion of the relationship aspect between King Caleb and Queen Sharleyan, particularly in that it combined their political responsibilities with their personal emtions extremely well. For such long books, these are eminently readable and don't feel in any way like a chore. The only problem with the next one is that it's in hardback, so it'll be physically weighty regardless of the content!
