Vengeance in Death review
May. 20th, 2009 09:34 pmNumber six in the futuristic murder mystery series by "Nora Roberts writing as J D Robb" (huh?). Not much I can say about this that I haven't said before. I like the characters (and there was a new one in this - a techie cop called McNab, whom I'm hoping to see again) and the plots are generally well put together, but it's basically suspense fluff with ridiculously cliched romance every hundred pages or so.
The fact that the husband of the main character always seems to be involved in the cases somehow is getting rather repetitive, as is the argument they have every hundred pages or so (generally just before the sex scenes), which is always exactly the same. I imagine real life couples generally do tend to have the same fight over and over again, but it does make for tedious reading.
I still enjoyed the book overall, though, and will probably read more in the series, but only once in a while.
