Top marks to Dave for suggesting we go to see this, as I was unconvinced, and it turned out to be largely genius. Stop the presses - I went to see a comedy and found it really funny! Admittedly, it was a riff on geeky guys who like sci-fi, with tons of references to other things (most of which I'm sure passed me by, but the ones I did get were great), and a brilliant Scream-like aspect where they found themselves in a time travel scenario and discussed the "rules". So, I guess I fall directly into the target market for the humour.
After the opening section, in which I was still uncertain, the three main characters quickly became immensely appealing, the dialogue was mostly sharp and often laugh-out-loud funny (which is an incredibly rare experience for me), and it was very well put together, with all the little bits and pieces of the different timelines slotting seamlessly into one another so that it all merged into an extremely satisfying whole.
Highly recommended to all sci-fi geeks who are prepared to laugh at themselves.
