I wanted the next in Sharon Shinn's Samaria series to follow on from the one before, since I was interested to know what effect the revelations of book three would have on the society. So, I was a little disappointed to discover that the last two in the series are actually set well before the first three, delving deeper into Samaria's past.

However, Angelica (book four) turned out to be even better than the other three (which I hadn't thought possible), not least because it was 150 pages longer! It also had several more strands to the plot and a lot more main characters drawn with greater depth. The romance aspects were still highly predictable (but no less satisfying for that), but the plot was more mysterious and suspenseful.

I just wanted to lose myself in that book and never come out. Sadly, I've finished it now, and only have one more to look forward to.
