Horse allocation

As I was mounting up today, Dominic commented that the matching of horses to riders was particularly good in our lesson this week, so I took the opportunity to ask him how it's done. He said Maria (the woman who books us all in) allocates all the horses and that it's largely random. I'm not sure Maria would say that, but it can't be too scientific - she knows our build and experience level, but she's never seen any of us ride.

Anyway, I was on Dolly this week and it was a really good lesson, despite having ten riders in it and limited space. Dolly's not the easiest of horses, but she responds well when you ride her well, so it's satisfying riding her. She takes just enough effort to make the lesson seem worthwhile, but not so much that it's really frustrating.
