The Red Cathedral and Tiny Epic Galaxies

Two new games played over Christmas!

The Red Cathedral:
You collect resources to build sections of the cathedral, which earn you money and points.
Very interesting dice-based mechanics for collecting the resources, plus pitfalls around completion and decoration of cathedral sections, which required a lot of strategising and opportunities for other players to capitalise on your mistakes. Also different types of points that allowed jumping up the victory track.
Complex but I enjoyed trying to work out how to do well.

Tiny Epic Galaxies:
You send ships out to colonise planets, while trying to manage your resources and take advantage of opportunities to copy the actions of other players.
Dice-based action selection with reroll management mechanic meant utilising limited options to best advantage, rather than planning things out in advance, which I liked.
One player got ahead and just wiped the floor with the rest of us, though, which is a potential downside.
I liked the gameplay and working out what to do at which point.
