Cracking film, Gromit!

Just got back from seeing Wallace and Gromit and the Curse of the Were-Rabbit


Thoroughly enjoyed this - I was humming along with the theme tune right at the start, and just hearing it again made me grin from ear to ear. Gromit is one of my all-time favourite characters, and all the ingredients were there to make this a wonderful experience.

There were new and improved gadgets, the laughs and groans came thick and fast (in about a 2:1 ratio - where the hell is all this maths-speak suddenly coming from???), there were even more bizarre than usual animal antics (cute, cute, cute bunnies!!) and the traditional ridiculous chase came in at the end right on cue.

I was worried that a feature length story would be too long to sustain a decent plot and maintain the level of intelligent gags I've come to expect from Wallace and Gromit, but it was consistently funny and the clever surprises kept on coming right the way through.

Interestingly, after all the funky machines and Gromit's usual involvement in every aspect of them, it was seeing him do the entirely normal thing of driving the car that broke cholten99's brain.

The proceedings were also enhanced by a short film at the beginning, featuring the penguins from Madagascar - the best thing from that all-round pretty good film.

Since Alobear hasn't commented at any kind of length on the short: those penguins put me in mind of certain roleplayers of my aquaintance. :) I'm thinking they know who they are... Names withheld, not to protect the innocent, but to increase everyone's paranoia as to who that might be.
