The penultimate Reacher book (briefly, because a new one is due out this month - woohoo!) is Never Go Back, which see Reacher finally arriving in Virginia to meet Major Susan Turner, the CO of the 110th MPs, Reacher's old command.  They spoke on the phone several times about three books ago and Reacher has been slowly making his way to her location ever since.  So, there were high expectations for this book - and it didn't disappoint.  Reacher was on fine form, and Turner provided an excellent companion to his shenanigans.  It was very funny in places, and quite exciting in others, and the story was fun and interesting.  Bits of it were also quite sad - there was the possibility of a hint of some emotional depth to Mr Reacher at a couple of points, but he shook it off and got back to normal pretty quickly.

My only quibble was that he spent a lot of the book talking about 50/50 decisions and chances and coin flips - and most of the situations he applied it to weren't 50/50 at all.  It was very repetitive and a bit odd, since he's never been obsessed with coin tosses before and probably won't be again.  But hey, Lee Child sometimes throws these weird repetitive things into individual books, and you just have to go with it.

Anyway, a classic Reacher tale, which I seem to have breezed through in a week - I really am going to miss the guy once I run out of books to listen to!
