I always really look forward to superhero movies, and they are often a disappointment (Avengers Assemble being an awesome exception, but also raising the bar even further).
Captain America: The Winter Soldier was not a disappointment - it was actually really good.
It helps that I find Chris Evans as Steve Rogers very appealing, and that Scarlett Johansson looks really good in a black jumpsuit, and that I'm an absolute sucker for emo hair on a villain, plus guys with wings really do it for me too...
Other than the eye candy, though, there was humour and excitement and emotion and very cool action.
Plus, Robert Redford has absolutely still got it at 77!
Obviously, with this kind of film, it's very easy to pick holes (surely they would have called Iron Man and Hawkeye? why didn't any of the bad guys just shoot Cap in the knee?) but overall it was a lot of fun and a really good Friday night out.
