I've been trying out some different computer games lately - and finished two this week...

In Storyteller, you're given a double-page spread of empty panels and a row of backdrops and characters to put into them. Then you're given a short description of a story arc and you have to put the story together, using the various elements provided. On some levels, it's made more complicated by having multiple different variants that have to be worked out.
Overall, it was really fun and very silly. It took a while in some cases for me to work out what to do, and some of the levels weren't very intuitive (and I had to look a couple up), but it was entertaining trying out different combinations and very satisfying when it all came together.
There were 60 levels, which seems like quite a lot - but the game was pretty short.

I also played Organised Inside, which is a game where you are presented with various different locations that are full of jumbled objects in silhouette and you have to highlight them all and then organise them neatly in cupboards or on shelves or display areas. There's also a cat that always turns up in every level, and some cute stories with various characters that appear between levels.
I love organising stuff like this - it reminded me of Unpacking, but easier because you didn't have to put things in specific places to complete a level. It was also nice to have clearer characters with stories to tell, though the emotional impact wasn't as strong as in Unpacking.
My only criticism is that you had to remove every item, one by one, before you could start putting things in the right places, which got a bit tedious sometimes. Plus, the ending felt abrupt as there seemed to be parts of the various stories that were set up and not followed through.
Really enjoyable, though!

My first book of December was a graphic novel version of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, which I discovered because I needed an adaptation of a classic play to complete a prompt for a reading challenge. It was a great way to revisit one of my favourite plays - more dynamic than just reading the script, and with great art that really brought the characters to life. There was perhaps a tad more text than I would normally prefer in a graphic format - but it would have been a travesty for Wilde's words to be truncated, so I could forgive the book that. Really fun.
