Chicory: A Colourful Tale

I was recently scouting for cozy, fun, relatively easy video games to play - and the internet recommended Chicory: A Colourful Tale. It opens with a question: What is your favourite food? Which, in my case, led to my little dog character being named - Tapas! Which was very cute.

And the game, at first sight, does seem very cute. You play the janitor in the Wielder's Tower, helping keep the place keen for the Wielder of the Magic Brush that adds colour to the world. But Chicory, the current Wielder is having a tough time and relinquishes the brush, which means you have to take it up and go out into the world to try and save it from the encroaching corruption of the evil trees...

Unfortunately, the game itself turned out to be a combination of puzzles I found it very difficult to solve, interspersed with boss fights that required a lot more manual dexterity than I possess. This resulted in long periods of me looking up solutions online, followed by brief bursts of frantic flailing and shrieking as I tried to stop poor Tapas from being electrocuted over and over again...

I made it to the end of three chapters but then decided to cut my losses and not carry on.
