Foxglove Summer
Jan. 6th, 2024 10:53 amI finally got around to the audiobook of the next Rivers of London book by Ben Aaronovitch - Foxglove Summer. It was great to have Kobna Holdbook-Smith back in my ears again - he's one of my all-time favourite audiobook narrators and really brings these books to life.
I'd taken a break from the series after being very annoyed by something that happened towards the end of the last one - but that aspect of the story went in an interesting direction in this one, so I'm glad I carried on.
The main plot is about Peter getting involved in the investigation of two girls going missing, which inevitably ends up having a supernatural explanation. It was interesting to have Peter out of his element - in the country instead of in London - though I missed the usual cast of characters who would normally be more involved.
Overall, it was a fun listen and I'll look forward to listening to the next one with less of a gap this time.
