I listened to the audiobook version of A Splinter in the Sky by Kemi Ashing-Giwa and I'll definitely look up more books read by the narrator because she's excellent.

The book is a space opera political intrigue story with a protagonist who volunteers to act as a political hostage to protect her planet, but with an additional agenda of trying to locate her missing sibling. Things quickly become much more complicated when she ends up being forced to spy for multiple different factions in the space station of the title.

I really enjoyed this book - the emotional and political stakes were high, the characters were well-drawn and engaging, I got invested in the story quickly, and it took multiple exciting turns I wasn't expected.

Recommended.
