The Enfield Film Orchestra and Chorus
May. 1st, 2022 12:09 pmLast night, we went to the Chickenshed Theatre in Enfield for the first time, for a concert by the Enfield Film Orchestra and Chorus.
It was a varied programme, even within the theme - Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Thunderbirds, Schindler's List, Star Trek, Jurassic Park, and more.
The chorus accompanied the orchestra for Moon River, Gladiator (really excellent), Unchained Melody, and The Conquest of Paradise (my favourite number of the evening).
The whole performance was a bit rough around the edges in places, but that only added to its charm. And overall, it was great! The flute section was very strong (especially in the Star Wars medley) the soloists were excellent, and we really enjoyed watching the percussion section zooming around, changing positions and instruments throughout.
A really enjoyable evening, all round.
