Ocean's Eight
Jun. 19th, 2018 04:57 pmWe went to see Ocean's Eight last night, and it was okay.
It kept me mildly entertained throughout, and I'm always happy for the opportunity to admire Sandra Bullock's hair. It's also good to see a female-centric movie where the characters are using guile and wit to achieve their aims, rather than just mooning over men or being sexy.
It was a light, fun, breezy romp, but it never really took off for me. There was never any sense of real jeopardy, and there were too many characters for any of them to really have a chance to shine.
Admittedly, it didn't help that the cinema was boiling hot, which gave me a headache and made it hard to care about what was happening on screen. But overall, the film was more forgettable than formidable.
