Empire Tidbits
May. 29th, 2013 07:24 pmSo, a director I've vaguely heard of (David O Russell) is making a film about some stuff (70s set con-drama, based on a true story). Why do I care? Let's see - Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper - and Jeremy Renner!! HOW - MUCH - EYE CANDY??? Plus, some not inconsiderable talent (at least in the forms of Bale and Lawrence). Excuse me for a moment while I squee uncontrollably over the prospect of such a lust-fest!! The 70s setting may cause some problems - but did I mention - Jeremy Renner!! Though I really can't imagine him with long hair...
Anyone who saw and enjoyed Before Sunrise (1995) and Before Sunset (2004) may be interested to know that there is an upcoming third instalment of the series - Before Midnight, due out on June 21st. Hmmm - I feel a triple bill may be in order. Any takers?
Also, I particularly liked the last line of Empire's review of The Great Gatsby - "If you're looking for something more restrained and believable this summer, Pacific Rim might be a better bet." In case anyone is unaware, Pacific Rim is giant lizard-monsters versus giant robots - it looks awesomely silly and will most definitely be on the viewing slate as soon as it appears.
And did I mention - mmm, Jeremy Renner... Now I'm trying to imagine what kind of film could star both him and Keira Knightley, and I think my brain just melted!
