Watchers review
Nov. 15th, 2010 12:49 pmThere are a lot of Dean R Koontz books available on BookMooch, so I decided to give one of them a try - Watchers, about a super-intelligent dog and its less friendly lab-mate, who escape their scientist creators and end up being tracked across the country by the NSA. A rather ridiculous premise, to be sure, but well executed. I liked the fact that the NSA agents were not portrayed as bad guys - in fact, all the characterisation was excellent, and even the hideous and violent monster was given sympathetic aspects. The ending was not as I had expected, but not in a bad way. I don't think Koontz is going to become a regular presence on by bookshelves, but I may try others of his books occasionally.
