Screwtape and Mitch Benn
Nov. 4th, 2010 09:08 amThe Screwtape Letters by C S Lewis is absolute genius. Funny, intelligent, challenging - if you haven't read it, do.
And speaking of funny and intelligent, we went to see Mitch Benn at the Bloomsbury last night, which was entertaining, as always. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more new material (since comic songs don't always stand up to repeated listening as well as more usual music). But it was still Mitch Benn, so it was still good. Everyone was particularly enamoured of the BBC song, which turned out to be the highlight of the show in terms of atmosphere, prompting the man himself to wish he'd saved it for the encore.
