The Rasmus review

The Rasmus gig on Tuesday night was very, very cool - I haven't bounced around so much in years!

Strong start with songs mostly from the new album, which I love, followed by a slight dip in the middle where they played a couple of songs I didn't know and a couple from the album I'm not so keen on, then a strong finish with old favourites from Dead Letters. 

I liked the venue - it was much smaller than others I've been to, which made it more intimate.  And the emo kids who made up most of the audience were very cute.  One girl, who couldn't have been more than 14 or 15, came with her mum and looked very self-conscious about it - it was very sweet.  She really threw herself into the music, though, and I'm pretty sure she had a really good time.

I did my best to blend in, with a black and purple t-shirt and my fingerless leather gloves - I have learned, however, that emo gloves are longer and woollen, and often stripy, so my disguise was a little faulty.  Hey ho - the extra decade probably didn't help, either...

All in all, a highly enjoyable evening!
