Brideshead Abbreviated review

alobearAnother winner on the birthday present front from lareinemisere and corone! Brideshead Abbreviated by John Crace has three-to-five page pastches of 100 "classic" books of the 20th century.
Obviously, it only really works if you've read the books, but I'd read thirteen of them and was familiar enough with another twenty or so that I got the references.
I particularly liked Hotel du Lac (as I'd just finished it a couple of days before so it was very fresh), The Trial, Lord of the Flies, and The Sea The Sea.
Clever and funny, but without destroying the books it parodies. It may even prompt me to read some of the other books featured so I can then appreciate the joke!
