Alias Grace is my second Margaret Atwood book this year, and I enjoyed it nearly as much as the first one.

It's incredibly well written and compelling, with an intriguing jigsaw puzzle structure, a wealth of period detail, and interesting characters.  I was gripped from the first.

However, the ending was somewhat of a disappointment, as suspenseful plot points disappeared without resolution, one of the major characters acted really stupidly and then just wandered off, and the main thread kind of fizzled out in a rather anti-climactic fashion.

Still, overall, it was an excellent read, and I suppose constrained by actual historical events with regard to how things turned out in the end.
